The Barn Find
We made this barn find at a Swiss watchmaking business that has been closed a long time ago. The individual parts of the mechanical movement were perfectly stored for over half a century. Imagine finding new old components of a vintage car that have never been assembled.
The parts are original old ones from the 70's but as good as new – called new old stock. They have never been in use and as far as we know they are the last set of parts in the world from the Adolph Schild AS 2063 known worldwide from the cult watch Fifty Fathoms by Blancpain.
Even if we wanted we could not make more than around 900 watches from these parts.
The Movement
Adolph Schild S.A:
The Legacy of Swiss Movement Mastery
Founded in the 1890s, Adolph Schild S.A, also known as ASSA, was an Ébauche and watch movement maker operating til the 70s of the 20th century.
Adolph Schild, formerly associated with Eterna started to produce watch movements in Grenchen, Solothurn after 1896. They manufactured a variety of movements and by the 1920s they were already one of the biggest movement companys in Switzerland.

In 1926, Adolph Schild was merged with A. Michel AG and Fabrique d' Horlogerie de Fontainemelon. The result was Ebauches SA. Operating with their own independence and brand identity, they were able to go strengthend through the difficult economic conditions of the depression and World Wars and became one of the big players in Swiss movement manufacturing. A. Schild was also one of the grounding fathers of ASUAG in 1931.
After 1939, A. Schild introduced stamped movements on which a stamped marking was featured with a shield and the letters AS inside. From the 1950s through the 1970s many reputable watch brands like Longines and Blancpain used A. Schild movements.
Around 1979, right in the middle of the quartz crisis Ebauches SA, including A. Schild, was merged with ETA to survive. Eterna formed ETA after Adolph Schild left them so this merger was a historic reunion of Schild family movement-making.

The AS 2063 is one of the late self winding movement by Adolph Schild. Introduced in 1969 the calibre features a single direction (counterclockwise) winding mechanism, an Incabloc shock protection, a date quickset mechanism and chatons for the selfwinding mechanism. It is known to be precise, reliable, and robust. Even Blancpain used it to power the legendary Fifty Fathoms, the first professional dive watch.
Our AS 2063 has 17 jewels and was produced around 1975.
We partnered up with an assembly company in Switzerland to guarantee you that your Cuenat H1 is up to the highest quality of Swiss Made watchmaking.
All Parts are original old, but As Good As New.
They have never been in use and have been perfectly stored at a swiss watchmaker, who acquired them from a bankruptcy. The parts are strictly limited and we believe this is the last existing stock of this movement in the world. Even if we wanted, we couldn’t make more than around 840 watches from the parts. To prove that we can, we have already successfully built 25 prototypes from these historical parts.

Historic Design

70s helmet design
Over the past few months our team has been considering which design language the watch should take up. After several sketches and prototypes, we decided on a design from the 1970s, the so-called helmet design, which harmoniously reflects the character and zeitgeist of the historical movement.
The result is a swiss made watch, made out of 316 stainless steel with a sapphire crystal on the front and the back, protected by a screw down crown.
You Can Trust us – We proved that we can
Of course we didn't want to wait until the successful campaign was over to see how and whether we could do it. To gain your trust, we have already created 25 prototypes in collaboration with expert service providers.

The Cuenat h1
Cuenat H1:
1970s Spirit in a Timeless Design
We designed a watch that lives up to the spirit of our movement. The Cuenat H1 is a sporty watch whose aesthetics takes up the character of the 1970s in the form of a helmet design. We found the perfect balance between being comfortable to wear and still being noticed. With a diameter of 40mm, it is enjoyable to wear for both male and female wrists.
The case of the Cuenat H1 is manufactured of solid 316L stainless steel. The polished and brushed surfaces create an exciting interplay that highlights the watch for the viewer on the wrist. With a thickness of 12mm it has a comfortable presence on the wrist.
The black watchface has three hands and is protected by a sapphire crystal. The hour and minute hands are a mix of polished and brushed surfaces, which matches perfectly with the applied hour indices. The second hand is painted in a bright red, which makes it easy to read the seconds on the inner chapter ring with the second markings in five steps. There is a quick set date window at 3 o'clock and of course the marking swiss made at 6 o'clock.
